HSR Training

(previously known as OHS Consultation training)

 

Course Summary

This course is aimed at new Health Safety Representatives (HSR's) in accordance with Work Health and Safety Act 2011. Gap training will also be available for existing NSW OHS representatives and elected OHS committee members who become HSR's under the new WHS Act. HSR's are entitled to training in WHS under Section 72 of the WHS Act 2011.

This course provides participants with:

• Information in relation to the Powers and Functions of Health and Safety Representatives in line with entitlements under Section 68 of the WHS Act
• Information for Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) that have been elected to represent a workgroup/s for their workplace under the new Work, Health, and Safety Act. It aims to familiarise participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to apply the principles of workplace WHS consultation as an integral part of effective WHS management system. The course should also assist in the development of appropriate attitudes to enable HS Representatives to effectively carry out their functions under WHS Legislation

Delivery

New HSR training duration for completion of this course is 5 days face to face training. Gap training for existing NSW OHS Representatives will be a minimum 1 day of face to face training. Refresher training is an entitlement for all HSR representatives and is a 1 day face to face session.

This course is designed with flexibility, so it can be adapted to cater for special needs of the client and covers:

• WHS Act and Regulation
• Consultation and Communication in WHS

 

Award Issued

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by The First Aid Training Company

 

Prerequisites

Gap training requires participants to have already completed the former four day Workcover course in OHS Consultation
