This course is designed for those who require training that conforms to the recommendations of the Australian Resuscitation Council, including the knowledge and skills to perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and respond to life threatening emergencies using basic life support measures only.

- Basic anatomy and physiology
- Severe bleeding & bleeding control
- Absence of life
- Choking/airway obstructions
- Shock
- Infection control
- Airway management
- Chest pain
- Severe allergic reactions
- The Chain of Survival
- Calling for help
- Understanding the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Own skills and limitations
- Reporting and recording an emergency
- General OH&S and legal issued
- Awareness of stress management and support
Award Issued
- Statement of Attainment & Wallet Card in HLTFA201A – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- Valid for one (1) year from the completion date
