DESCRIPTION:HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation \nCPR\n\nIntroduction:\nThis unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR\, in a range of situations\, including community and workplace settings.\nNational Course Code \n\nThe content of this course covers the following codes: \n\n\n	HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation\n\n\nTraining Program \n\nThis Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation course is delivered as a 4 hour face-to-face training session\, plus breaks \n\nWe offer weekly public attendance first aid courses at our Mayfield West training centre or we can come to your workplace. \n\nIf your organisation is interested in a private / in-house booking to have this course delivered to a group of staff\, please contact our head office to discuss booking options. The delivery can be programmed to fit in with your staff and company schedule\, at your venue or ours. \n\nAssessment Requirements\n\nPhysical Requirements: \n\nIt is important to note that this CPR element of this course requires a level of physical ability to complete practical assessments. \n\nAll students are required to perform 2 minutes of CPR on an adult manikin and baby manikin on the floor. If your health or fitness will not allow you to demonstrate this\, you will not be awarded a nationally accredited certificate for HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. We can however issue a non accredited certificate of attendance for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. \n\nLanguage Skills: \n\nAll students must be able to demonstrate an accurate verbal report which would be given to emergency services and workplace supervisor. \n\nLanguage\, Literacy & Numeracy requirements\n\nThis course combines plain english\, videos\, photos\, and questioning to ensure all learners are able to have the best possible chance at comprehending the required knowledge and developing first aid skills that will be needed in an emergency. \n\nIf you believe you will need assistance due to your Language\, Literacy or Numeracy skills\, please contact our head office before enrolling to discuss your training needs. \n\nIdentification\n\nAll students must bring ID with them to the training course. Photo ID is the minimum requirement (e.g. Drivers Licence\, Passport or similar). \n\nAssessment submission process\, support and outcomes\n\nAssessment Outcomes: Competent or Not Competent \n\nFor any learner who is unable to satisfactorily complete all assessment tasks\, the assessor will attempt to make reasonable adjustments to the methods of assessment. If the learner is deemed not competent\, they will need to re-sit the training course and additional fees will apply. \n\nRecognition of Prior Learning\n\nStudents choosing to undertake RPL will need to be sent an RPL guide for their course. \n\nIn order to be eligible for RPL\, the student must demonstrate currency in that particular subject. I.e. a student cannot submit evidence from 5 years prior and request it be applied directly to their new competency. They must show how they have since applied those skills and that they are current. \n\nCourse completion\n\nOnce assessed and competency demonstrated\, learners will be issued a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. \n\nThis Unit of Competency is Nationally Recognised from Health Training Package\, it is recommended that it is updated yearly by the Australian Resuscitation Council. \n\n\nEnquire\nUpcoming Workshops\nThere are currently no openings available for this course.

DESCRIPTION:HLTAID011 Provide First Aid \nPFA\n\nIntroduction:\nThis unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies. \n\nThe unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations\, including community and workplace settings.\n\nApplicable Industries: \n\n\n	Emergency responders\n	Childcare\n	Education\n	Medical professionals\n	Construction\n	Many more\n\n\nNational Course Code \n\nThe content of this course covers the following codes: \n\n\n	HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation\n	HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support\n	HLTAID011 Provide First Aid\n\n\nTraining Program \n\nThis Provide First Aid course is delivered as a 7 hour face-to-face training session\, plus breaks. \n\nWe offer weekly public attendance first aid courses at our Mayfield West training centre or we can come to your workplace. \n\nIf your organisation is interested in a private / in-house booking to have this course delivered to a group of staff\, please contact our head office to discuss booking options. The delivery can be programmed to fit in with your staff and company schedule\, at your venue or ours. \n\nLearners are to complete pre course theory via self-paced learning on-line course\, this takes on average 2 hours to complete\, with some people taking much more.
